Plenaries help learners connect the information they learnt throughout the lesson by summarising and reviewing key points and identifying any gaps in their learning.
This Plenary Pyramid allows learners to reflect on:
- Things they have learned during the lesson
- Things they have been reminded during the lesson
- Questions they have about the lesson
This consolidation of learning helps reinforce long-term memory on the part of the learner and helps the teacher identify any gaps in learning so he/she may address them in future lesson plans.
Check out how it is used in context in this lesson: ‘How to Explain Calamities and Tragic Events to Madrassah Children’.
