- Curriculum Overview
The Husayni Qur’an Curriculum gives students the opportunity to learn to read Qur’anic Arabic with tajweed, memorize and understand key themes in popular surahs and understand the history of the Qur’an according to Shia belief.
The Husayni Fiqh Curriculum offers a comprehensive study of Islamic obligations from a Shia perspective. This curriculum is designed to familiarize students with the fundamental principles of Shi’ism and to help them build confidence.
The Husayni Islamic History Curriculum offers a study of Islamic history from a Shia perspective including stories of previous prophets, the life of the Prophet Muhammad, the life of Ali b. Abi Talib, Karbala and the lives of the 12 Shia Imams.

Q includes learning to read Qur’an, Tajweed and Memorization of Key Surahs
The Husayni Qur’an Curriculum gives students the opportunity to learn to read Qur’anic Arabic with tajweed, memorize and understand key themes in popular surahs, understand the history of revelation and the compilation of the Qur’an according to Shia belief, an introduction in to usul al-tafseer and proof of Shia belief from the Qur’an. It further provides a study of the translation and commentary of important surahs from the Qur’an (Ya Sin, Mulk, Al-Rahman etc.), the proper comportment when reciting the Qur’an, how to reflect and apply the teachings of the Qur’an, stories of the prophets and the framework of the Qur’an (sajdah, ruku’, manzil, hizb, nisf etc.)

Islamic Studies includes, fiqh, seerah, aqeedah, akhlaaq
The Islamic Studies Curriculum includes Islamic beliefs, akhlaq, basic fiqh (prayer, fasting, and cleanliness) for younger learners whilst more in depth fiqh for older learners (hajj, zakat, transactions, and marriage and divorce). It also includes an introduction to Shia concepts of Imamah, Khilafa and Ijtihad.
